great, pure debut   May 10, 2008
Ahmed has created a world with strength in both story/character and the scifi thinking that's gone into it... a fascinating concept of not just first contact, but of
an alternate physics and its ramifications.

Dark Matter is such a fascinating book that once started it is very difficult to put down till one has reached the end of the book. <more>

not just for sci-fi nerds   June 3, 2008
Like a couple other reviewers, I found it engrossing and hard to put down. There's enough action for action buffs. There's enough social & political allegory
for non-fiction readers. There's enough solid physics for sci-fi fans.

Loved reading Dark Matter   July 11, 2008
The story was written so well, it felt like real life events. I never thought that I was reading a science fiction book. Right after I finished reading the last chapter,
I was holding the book in my hand and felt like I came out of a dream.

                  A Treat of a Book   Aug 5, 2008
In Dark Matter, the author has expanded human nature to a galactic scale. Human culture has been separated into distinct poles and the interaction between
the poles has been carefully examined.

                  Amazing story   Aug 23, 2008
To me, the beginning part of story was typical and boring, but it started to dramatically change upon appearance of aliens to a lonely man Marc, and has
driven all the way to the end with sequence of unpredictable and amazing stories.

very enjoyable read - highly recommend  Sept 8, 2008
Younger readers will appreciate the pure good vs. evil intergalactic conflicts, and the veterans will clearly relate to the insightful, subtle messaging which
parallels our own worldly conflicts.

Gave it 5 stars for the concept and story. Suffers a bit in the writing - some stale dialog - but very good read. Looking forward to Ahmed's next book.

This is a good read. I've been a sci-fi fan since the 50's and I'm from a science background so I tend to be picky but I think "Dark Matter" is one of the best
